Gunnison Sage Grouse and the Importance of Sagebrush Habitat

The Gunnison Sage Grouse is an endangered species of bird that resides in Southern Colorado. Sagebrush is the sole habitat for this bird and hundreds of other species. This project performed an NDVI analysis on three different years (1985, 2005, 2021), to determine whether there has been consistent vegetation degradation in the Sage Grouse habitat. The results showed that the vegetation degradation was not consistent. To arrive at a more solid conclusion more analysis is needed.
